The City Clerk serves as the legislative director for the City.
Responsibilities of the City Clerk include municipal records, records management, Council agendas and minutes, Council mail and calendars, municipal elections, legal public notices, Sheriff regulated businesses permits, committees coordination, Municipal Code maintenance, business registration, FPPC filings, supplying records and information to City Council other departments and the public.
The Clerk also serves as Board Clerk for the San Dieguito Water District and Encinitas Housing Authority.
