The Mission of the Encinitas Fire Department is to protect the public by mitigating the impact of emergency and hazardous situations through effective prevention, preparedness and response programs.

Our vision is to maintain an emergency service delivery system at the leading edge of technology and training supported by an organizational environment of team work with a management philosophy of openness and entrepreneurship.

VALUE STATEMENTS:

We are dedicated to service.  Service to us means being there when it counts and assisting and teaching when there is need.  We ask ourselves when embarking on actions and activities, "Does this benefit the citizens whom we serve?"

Fire prevention and education to us is not a concept, it is reality.  We believe in public fire education, code development and enforcement, comprehensive fire and arson investigation and other activities designed to provide an educated and safe community.

We are involved in the total fire and emergency service community.  We are innovative and strive to learn new technologies.  We share our successes and listen and learn from others.
